In-game description:
"Allows production of spaceships and defenses. A higher level means quicker production.

This large facility is where all spacecrafts and defensive structures are constructed, assisted by nano-robots if available, reducing production times. At higher levels, the shipyard has more production options and production times are reduced."

Production TimeEdit

The time to produce any ship or defense depends on the level of the Shipyard as well as the level of the Nanite Factory. Each ship and defense has a different base time which is dependant on its total cost in resources, excluding gas (i.e. only metal and crystal). The base time in seconds can be determined as follows:

time_{base} = 0.36\times(cost_{metal} + cost_{crystal})

To then determine the actual production time, you need to take into account the improvements due to leveling your Shipyard and Nanite Factory:

time_{actual} = \frac{time_{base}}{(level_{shipyard}+1) \times 2^{level_{nanite}}}

For Lv.5: -83.33333... etc
For Lv.6: -85.71429012345679 based on Death Star with 900:00:00 to 128:34:17 turned into 3,240,000 sec to 462,857 sec.
