Glory score shows how "honorably" you play by looking at whether you prefer to attack weaker players, or equal or stronger players (as determined by personal score). When a player has high glory score and a low rank on the server they will get certain advantages as well as a golden wing (glorious) badge. A negative glory score will give certain disadvantages as well as a pirate skull badge. Badges are shown in your profile, whenever you chat, and when viewing any of your planets.
Glory score can only be gained whenever a player attacks a planet which says "Glory of Battle" or whenever a player defends a planet. It is however possible to lose glory score when a joint strike is performed on a "Glory of Battle" planet as the "Glory of Battle" indication is only valid for the personal score of the player currently viewing the planet (and not for all those involved in the attack).
The amount of glory score gained is dependent on the amount of resources taken and the damage done to the enemy. When glory score is lost, the calculation is exactly the same, only in the negative. While the formula is not precisely known, it is likely that each 5,000 resources taken (only metal and crystal, not gas) gives 1 glory point to both the attacker and defender. The amount of glory received for damage to ships and defences (in terms of debris which is a percentage of their total cost) is not yet precisely known, but seems to about 1 glory point for every 1,000 to 2,000 debris.
When your glory score is high the following applies:
|Badge||Glory Score||Minimum Rank Required||Advantages|
|> 2,000||500||10% increase on metal, crystal and gas production|
|> 15,000||300||20% increase on metal, crystal and gas production|
|> 60,000||100||30% increase on metal, crystal and gas production|
|> 200,000||20||40% increase on metal, crystal and gas production|
When your glory score is negative you appear as "Glory of Battle" to everyone and the following also applies:
|< 0||base resource protection is down from 40% to 30%|
|< -15,000||base resource protection is down from 30% to 20%|
|< -60,000||base resource protection is down from 20% to 10%|
|< -200,000||base resource protection is down from 10% to 0%|
